Happy National Daiquiri Day!

Posted on

Did you know the original daiquiri consisted of just rum, lemon juice and sugar? It was also served straight up or on the rocks, as opposed to blended with ice. No blender and just a few ingredients sounds like the perfect daiquiri recipe in our book!

In honor of National Daiquiri Day, whip up one of our Classic Lemon Daiquiris. These cocktails are perfect for front-porch sipping on a hot summer day, and are best paired with your favorite Hemingway novel.

Classic Lemon Daiquiri (makes 1)

·      1.5 oz White Rum

·      1.5 oz Simple syrup

·      .75 oz Lemon juice

Chill a cocktail glass in the refrigerator. Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake gently. Strain into the chilled glass and enjoy!

Simple Syrup recipe:

Boil 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar until sugar dissolves. Reduce heat and simmer 2 minutes, undisturbed. Let cool. Store in sealed container in fridge for up to two weeks.
